Frequently Asked Questions

More about EvoShare

Why is EvoShare the smartest cash-back solution?

Unlike most cash-back programs that offer you earnings today, that are gone tomorrow, EvoShare's model ensures your cash-back either compounds with time in your retirement or college fund account, or saves you time, and interest, on your student loan. Therefore, EvoShare is the smartest cash-back solution that delivers real financial benefits without making you spend more than you already do. It's that simple.

Evoshare is also the only cash-back program that offers employers and employees peace of mind by giving them cash-back toward their 401(k) or 403(b) plan.

Does EvoShare sell retirement plans, college funds, or issue student loans?

No. EvoShare simply provides additional money toward any of these accounts. We do, however, understand you might have financial questions and, for that reason, we have partnered with financial institutions that will gladly assist you.

How many participating businesses does EvoShare currently have?

EvoShare is rapidly expanding, so the number of partnered businesses is constantly growing. Currently, we are partnered with over 1,300 online businesses like Walmart, Ebay, and Target and over 8,700 restaurants, stores and gas stations across the country like Guess, Exxon , and Cost Plus World Market. You're welcome to sign up and view them all!

How does EvoShare make money?

EvoShare makes money in two ways. First, we keep a percentage of the total cash-back amount participating merchants give. For example, if an online merchant offers to give 10% cash-back, EvoShare would be paid an additional percentage by the merchant.

Second, we charge employers for our solution as an employee perk that will make a significant impact on their employees’ financial wellness while increasing employee retention and retirement plan engagement.

How are cash-back earnings processed?

In order to earn cash-back when shopping online, be sure to go to your favorite online stores through your Dashboard, or use our Chrome or Safari browser extension. This allows EvoShare to identify your purchases at participating online businesses, and ensure you receive the correct amount of cash-back.

Earnings from online businesses can take 1-10 business days to process. In some cases, the earning process may be delayed.

Please note, you only need to link your debit or credit card when making offline purchases at local bars, restaurants, and stores. Be sure to process your purchase as a credit charge in order to earn cash-back.

What is a “shopping trip”?

A shopping trip is a number label that is recorded whenever you activate EvoShare’s cash-back through your dashboard, browser extension, or the online businesses’ website. This will help you verify that you are using the program correctly. It also provides a point of reference in case you need to contact us about a purchase. You can check your shopping history in the “My Cash-back” section of your dashboard.

Please keep in mind that most online businesses will only show the transaction once the order has been shipped, the return period has lapsed, or when a pre-purchased service has been rendered. For example, in most cases, if you buy a plane ticket, you will only receive you cash-back reward once you’ve taken the flight, not upon purchase of the ticket.

Cash-back from restaurants, cafes, and other local businesses

How are cash-back earnings processed?

When shopping at partnered brick and mortar locations, you must link your Visa, Mastercard or American Express card(s) to your account. This allows EvoShare to ensure you will receive cash-back for each qualified transaction, and have it automatically deposited into your account. Earnings from local restaurants and stores can take anywhere from a few minutes to 7 business days to show up, depending on the type of card used and restaurant visited. Maximum cash-back per transaction is $250.

Which types of Credit Cards can I sign up with?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.

Not all transactions made with your registered card (including PIN-based transactions, payment through a third-party digital wallet or payment app) can be monitored for eligibility to earn rewards. When using a debit card, do not use a PIN when making purchases if you want the transaction to be applied toward your offer completion. See Terms and Conditions for more details.

Can I use a Debit Card?

Yes, but keep in mind if you register a debit card, your transaction must be processed as a ‘credit’ transaction in order for it to be be verified in your account. Do not use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) when paying for purchases with your enrolled card if you want the transaction to be eligible for cash-back or offer completion.

Why do you need my card details?

By securely registering your credit cards with us, we will be able to track your transactions at our participating venues. After the transaction occurs, the card provider will notify us of the purchase amount, and we credit your EvoShare account with the 1-30% cash-back you received.

Is my Debit/Credit Card information secure?

Absolutely. EvoShare does not store any of your credit card information. When you enter your credit card number, it goes directly to our partner Empyr, which implements bank level security, such as:

  • VeriSign® certified (Internet Security Global Leader)
  • Visa® certified third-party processor (TPP)
  • American Express® Certified end-point processor
  • Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant
  • 128-bit SSL encryption
  • Secure user password authentication
  • MD5 encryption for card protection
How do I link a Debit/Credit Card?

To link a debit/credit card to your EvoShare account, please login to your Dashboard, and go to the Linked Card(s) section on the navigation bar to the left. All you need to do is provide EvoShare with your debit/credit card number and accept our Terms and Conditions.

How many Debit/Credit Cards can I link to my account?

We like the way you’re thinking! You want to register all your cards to make sure you don't miss out on any earnings, right?! So go ahead and register as many as you like, we have no limit!

Are all of my transactions qualified to receive cash-back?

Not all transactions made with your registered card (including PIN-based transactions, payment through a third-party digital wallet or payment app) can be monitored for eligibility to earn rewards. Do not use a PIN when making purchases if you want the transaction to be applied toward your offer completion. See Terms and Conditions for more details. Maximum cash-back per transaction is $250.

How long does it take for a purchase to show up?

Earnings from local restaurants may take anywhere from a few seconds to 7 days to show up, depending on the type of card used or restaurant visited.

Why is cash-back not always exactly the percentage of the offer?

The cash-back amount from local restaurants is calculated on your subtotaled bill. We do this by subtracting the tax and average tip from the venue where you used your card.

If you tipped more, or less, than the average tip size, you may get slightly more, or less, than the percentage offered at the location, but it shouldn’t vary more than $0.10.

For online purchases the cash-back amount is also calculated on your subtotal amount, this means the amount before tax, service fee, and delivery/shipping fee.

Why is my cash-back from a purchase made with a gift card incorrect?

If you purchased a gift card, please note that our system does not differentiate between gift cards (not taxed), and the purchase of food.

In an earlier FAQ, we state, "When we calculate the cash-back at EvoShare, we give you a percentage of cash-back based on your subtotaled bill. We do this by subtracting the tax and average tip from the venue where you used your card.”

So, when you buy a $10.00 gift card, the amount before tax is $9.22. This means the cash-back awarded will be based on the $9.22 subtotal of the gift card.

Can I order through a delivery service or order online?

ANY third-party ordering services and delivery companies (Square, Grubhub, Eat24, ChowNow, Groupon, Clover, Postmates etc.) are not eligible for EvoShare cash-back or promotions. The purchase must be made through the merchant’s credit card machine.

If you are ordering at an EvoShare partnered restaurant online, please note that most restaurants use external resources to facilitate online ordering. If you are entering your credit or debit card online, please call the restaurant to ensure they run their online orders through their credit card machine. If they do not run them through the credit card machine, you will not receive EvoShare cash-back or cash rewards.

We've listed some examples below of what you would see on your bank statement if you used a third-party service. EvoShare does not track third party delivery or order services.

  • SQ: Square
  • GP: Groupon
  • Clover
  • Grubhub
  • Eat24
  • Postmates
