Frequently Asked Questions

More about EvoShare

Why is EvoShare the smartest cash-back solution?

Unlike most cash-back programs that offer you earnings today that are gone and spent tomorrow, EvoShare's model ensures your cash-back either compounds with time in your retirement account or saves you time and interest on your student loan debt. Therefore, EvoShare is the smartest cash-back solution that delivers real financial benefits without making you spend more than you already do. It's that simple.

Does EvoShare sell retirement plans, college funds, or issue student loans?

No. EvoShare simply provides additional money towards any of these accounts. We do, however, understand you might have financial questions and for that reason we have partnered with financial educators that would gladly assist you.

How many participating businesses does EvoShare currently have?

EvoShare is rapidly expanding so you will notice the number of partnered businesses is constantly growing. Currently, we are partnered with over 1,500 online businesses and over 4,000 restaurants and stores across the country. You're welcome to sign up and view them all!

How does EvoShare make money?

EvoShare keeps 25% of the total cash-back amount participating online merchants give. For example, if an online merchant commits to a 10% cash-back amount, EvoShare keeps 2.5% on all user transactions at their location. Users will always see this remaining cash-back amount on their dashboard, which in this case would be 7.5%.

EvoShare receives a 2.7% commission rate on top of the EvoSaver’s cash-back amount from offline merchants.

What if businesses I like haven’t partnered with EvoShare?

Simply make a request through your Dashboard and we’ll do our best to have them join EvoShare. The more requests we receive for a particular business, the more likely the business is to join - so tell your friends and family to join EvoShare and suggest businesses you like as well!

Getting started

Can I join EvoShare if I don't have a student loan or retirement account?

Yes! EvoShare is open to everyone. You can start earning cash-back and EvoShare will hold your earnings until you need them for a retirement account, student loan, or college fund.

What do I need to do to register?

Click here! You can register for free. It’s a quick and easy process.

Do I have to pay a program fee after registration?

It’s always free to be an EvoSaver! You never have to pay a cent to have and use an account.

If I want to save for my child’s student loan, do I have to open a Evoshare account in my name or my child's name?

Your name, but you will have to remember to check the box: “I want to earn cash-back towards a friend or family member's student loan account” when choosing the type of loan, you will be paying off.

Can I save for more than one student?

Yes, but you can only earn cash-back for one person at a time. However, you are allowed to change and switch the person you are saving for. You can choose who you are saving for anytime you like. For example, you could save for “Student 1” from January to June and you could save for “Student 2” from July to December.

Cash-back from online purchases

How are cash-back earnings processed?

When shopping online, be sure to go through your Dashboard or use our Chrome or Safari extension. This is so EvoShare can identify your purchases at participating online businesses and ensure you receive the correct amount of cash-back you've earned.

Earnings from online businesses normally take 1-10 business days to process. In some case, the earning process may be delayed.

Please note you only need to link your payment card when making offline purchases at local restaurants and stores.

How long does it take for a purchase to show up?

Earnings from local restaurants may take anywhere from a few minutes to 7 business days to show up, depending on the type of card used and restaurant visited.

Earnings from online businesses normally take 1-10 business days to process. In some case, the earning process may be delayed.

Please keep in mind that most online businesses show the transaction when the order has been shipped, the return period has elapsed, or when a pre-purchased service has been used. So, for example, in most cases if you buy a flight ticket, you will receive the cash-back once you have taken the flight, not the day that you bought the ticket.

How does EvoShare deposit my cash-back towards a college fund, student loan, or retirement account?

After providing us with your account information through the Dashboard, EvoShare will automatically redeem your cash-back earnings to your desired account when you have 20 points (equal $20) or more. But if you'd like to transfer your earnings before this point, there will be a 50 cents transaction cost.

If you'd like EvoShare to deposit your earnings toward a 401k or 403b account, your employer must participate in EvoShare's Employer program. This program allows us to effectively and effortlessly direct your earnings to the right account.

Can I cash-out my cash-back earnings?

In our commitment to help improve your financial future, we only allow cash-back earnings to be deposited towards a retirement, student loan, or college fund account.

What should I do if I don’t see my cash-back?

If you do not see your cash-back, please go to My Cash-back on your Dashboard to fill out and submit the “Where’s my cash-back?” form.

What if I need to modify, exchange, or return all or part of an order?

If you need to change your order through the merchant, cash-back will not be issued. In order to receive cash-back on a changed order, cancel your original order and make a new one through your EvoShare account or EvoShare extension. If you return an order or part of an order, cash-back will not be issued on the returned part and your cash-back balance will be adjusted accordingly.

What is the difference between Pending and Confirmed cash-back?

Pending cash-back appears in your account when EvoShare receives your order information from the business. Pending cash back is not yet eligible for payment. It becomes Confirmed and eligible for payment once EvoShare receives commission for your order, which typically takes 30 to 60 days, depending on the business.

What is a “shopping trip”?

A shopping trip is a number label that is recorded whenever you activate EvoShare cash-back through your dashboard, browser extension, or the online businesses’ website. This is so you can verify if you are using the program correctly and provides a reference in case you need to contact about a purchase. You can check your shopping history in the “My Cash-back” section of your dashboard.

Where can I view my recently earned cash-back?

Every time you earn cash-back, you will receive an email notifying you. You can always check your earned cash-back in the “My Cash-back” section of your dashboard.

Cash-back from restaurants, cafes, and other local businesses

How are cash-back earnings processed?

When shopping offline at partnered brick and mortar locations, be sure to link your credit card(s). This allows EvoShare to ensure you receive cash-back for every qualified transaction and have it automatically deposited into your account.

Earnings from local restaurants and stores may take anywhere from a few minutes to 7 business days to show up, depending on the type of card used and restaurant visited.

Maximum cash-back per transaction is $250.

Which types of Credit Cards can I sign up with?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
Not all transactions made with your registered card (including PIN-based transactions, payment through a third-party digital wallet or payment app) can be monitored for eligibility to earn rewards. When using a debit card, do not use a PIN when making purchases if you want the transaction to be applied towards your offer completion. See Terms and Conditions for more details.

Can I use a Debit Card?

Yes, but keep in mind if you register a debit card, your transaction must be processed as a ‘credit’ (i.e., signature) transaction to make sure the transaction can be monitored. Do not use a Personal Identification Number (PIN) when paying for your purchases with your enrolled card if you want the transaction to be eligible for cash-back or offer completion.

Why do you need my card details?

By securely registering your credit cards with us, we are able to track your transactions at our participating venues. After the transaction occurs, the card provider notifies us of the purchase amount and we credit your EvoShare account with the 1-30% cash back received.

Is my Debit/Credit Card information secure?

Absolutely. EvoShare does not store any of your credit card info. When you enter your credit card number it goes directly to our partner Empyr, which implements the bank level security such as:

  • VeriSign® certified (Internet Security Global Leader)
  • Visa® certified third-party processor (TPP)
  • American Express® Certified end-point processor
  • Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant
  • 128-bit SSL encryption
  • Secure user password authentication
  • MD5 encryption for card protection

How do I link a Debit/Credit Card?

To link a debit/credit card to your EvoShare account, please login into your Dashboard and go to the Linked Card(s) section on navigation bar to the left. All you need to do is provide EvoShare with your debit/credit card number and accept our Terms and Conditions.

How many Debit/Credit Cards can I sign up?

We like your thinking! You want to register all your cards to make sure you don't miss out on any earnings, are we right?! So go ahead and register as many as you like, we have no limit!

Are all of my transactions qualified to receive cash-back?

Not all transactions made with your registered card (including PIN-based transactions, payment through a third-party digital wallet or payment app) can be monitored for eligibility to earn rewards. Do not use a PIN when making purchases if you want the transaction to be applied towards your offer completion. See Terms and Conditions for more details.

Maximum cash-back per transaction is $250.

How long does it take for a purchase to show up?

Earnings from local restaurants may take anywhere from a few seconds to 7 days to show up, depending on the type of card used and restaurant visited.

Why is cash-back not always exactly the percentage of the offer?

The cash-back amount from local restaurants is calculated on your sub-totaled bill. We do this by subtracting the tax and average tip from the venue where you used your card. If you tipped more or less than the average tip size, you may get slightly more or less than the percentage offered at the location, but it shouldn’t vary more than $0.10. For online purchases the cash-back amount is also calculated on your sub-total amount, which means before tax, service fee and delivery/shipping fee.

Why is my cash-back from a purchase made with a gift card incorrect?

If you purchased a gift card, please note that our system does not differentiate between a gift card (not taxed) and the purchase of food.

In an earlier FAQ, we state, "When we calculate the cash back at EvoShare, we give you a percentage of cash-back based on your sub-totaled bill. We do this by subtracting the tax and average tip from the venue where you used your card.”

So when you buy a $10.00 gift card, the amount before tax is $9.22. So, the cash back awarded will be based on the $9.22 subtotal of the gift card.

Can I order through a delivery service or order online?

ANY third party ordering services and delivery companies (for example: Square, Grubhub, Eat24, ChowNow, Groupon, Clover, Postmates etc.) are not eligible for EvoShare cash-back or promotions. The purchase must be made through the venue’s credit card machine.

If you are ordering at a EvoShare partnered restaurant online, please note that most restaurants use external resources to facilitate the online ordering. If you are entering your credit or debit card online, please call the restaurant to make sure that they run their online orders through their credit card machine. If they do not run them through the credit card machine, you will not receive EvoShare cash-back or cash rewards.

We've listed some examples below of what you would see on your bank statement if you used a third-party service. EvoShare does not track on third party delivery or order services.

  • SQ: Square
  • GP: Groupon
  • Clover
  • Grubhub
  • Eat24
  • Postmates
